A further update for you (30 April 2016)
With funds secured from our 'Friends of Scotia' Scheme, Andrew Fraser participated in, and successfully completed, the 'In Safe Hands' course conducted by SportsScotland.
In summary, this keeps Scotia legally above board in terms of ensuring that the way we conduct ourselves, and the policies we follow, are in line with those expected of Scotia by our gverning body, Scottish Athletics.
In simple English, you now know that you will be in safe and a competent coaching environment at all times.
This newest Club qualification makes us verylucky, in that we now have 2 Child Protection Officers, with Andrew now officially joining Bill McFadden in that vital role.
This is a remarkable milestone and a highly-exceptional case:
Seldom does any Club have 2 Child Protection Officers (Scotia has 2).
For more details, check things out here.
1 March 2016:
The Child Protection Officer / Club Welfare position is now strengthened with Andrew Fraser completing the 'Safeguarding and Protecting Children' course (the accredited Sports UK Council course)
So, when Andrew completes the Children 1st 'In Safe Hands' course (in April), then Scotia Race Walking Club will have 2 fully-qualified and active Child Protection Officers . . . . great success for such a small, new Club.
Many thanks to Willie Murray for sponsoring this Course: Very much appreciated (our whole Club will benefit from your generosity)
More publicity for our Club ...

Scotia RWC is best in Britain, while Agnes Ellis is the new British 5km Champion (19 June 2016)
At the British Masters 5km Road Championships in Horwich on 19 June, Agnes Ellis led the Gold Rush for Scotia.
She became the new British 5km Champion (F55) . . . Huge congratulations, Ellis: A thoroughly-deserved victory!
The Men's Team were declared Gold Medal winners, beating every other team in Britain (not bad for a Club that is not even 2 years old!)
We also represented Scotland:
Narrowly finished 3rd.
